15U BLACK SOX TRYOUTS
Soo Minor Baseball Association is happy to announce the Soo Black Sox tryouts of all ages for the upcoming 2021 season.  All tryout sessions will be held in the various indoor gyms at the Sault Activity Centre (130 Wellington St. East) as follows:

Sunday, March 21, 2021    4:00 - 5:00 PM
Sunday, March 28, 2021    4:00 - 5:00 PM

Players are expected to bring; face coverings, indoor shoes, ball glove, batting helmet, bat, protective gear and dressed appropriately for athletic activity.  They are encouraged to bring a water bottle and sanitizer. Sharing of any equipment will be prohibited.

Tryout fee will be a non-refundable lump sum of $40 for the scheduled sessions.  Payment can be made at the first tryout or with a special arrangement made with the coach.  Receipts will be made available upon request.

Players are asked to arrive at the facility 20 minutes prior to scheduled start time.  Parent/guardian is asked to escort player to the gym entrance, complete registration and other screening documentation.  Unfortunately, C19 safety protocols prohibit spectators or visitors in the building at this time.  Parents are asked to wait in their vehicles at time of pickup. In addition, all players are requested to pre-register by emailing their respective coaches noting an intent to attend tryouts to ensure there will be no occupancy capacity concerns.

Given the unknown future of the C19 pandemic restrictions, the intent of the tryouts will be to select to a group of committed players that will workout and practice together throughout the winter.   Fees to cover the scheduled workouts, will be determined individually by each team.  In the spring, the future and viability of the program will be reassessed based on the in-place safety restrictions at that time.  Should safety restrictions allow, the intent would be for the teams to move forward with some form of season as usual.  Each age group and team will have an information session to provide further details at the appropriate time.

Safety remains our highest priority.  All sessions will follow APH and Baseball Ontario guidelines.  Please contact the head coach of your specific age group should you have any specific questions.
