Over the July 21st to 23rd weekend, the Soo 13U Black Sox hit the road to Southwestern Ontario to join eleven other 13U teams in the 2023 Southwest London Summer Classic in London, Ontario.

Coach Noel Stephen told Saultsports.com that "The team peaked this weekend and performed very well. We received tremendous pitching backed by sound defense all around with Bryson Palahnuk throwing out two players attempting to steal a base in the semi final game which really stalled the opposition’s offensive hopes."
"John-Anthony Giallonardo lead off 4 of the 5 games with doubles while also reaching base with lead off walk in game two. This really sparked the offense who were aggressive at the plate all weekend, hitting the ball very hard all the way through the lineup. The staff and parents are very proud of the compete level paired with the great sportsmanship the players demonstrated all weekend," said Stephen.
Next up for the Soo 13U Black Sox will be the 2023 OBA 13U Championships in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario over the Labour Day Weekend.
